Oscar Mayer and Guinness World Records invite you to eat hot dogs in Valencia.
Valencians, Falleros and visitors to Valencia will all be at the hot dog eating event t on Saturday 12th March from 11.30 am at Puente de las Flores (The Bridge of Flowers) in Valencia.
The aim of this event is to get the the highest concentration of people in history, eating hot dogs at once. Success will result in an entry to the Guinness World Records.

Ninot Parade through Valencia

The traditional Ninot Parade of 1,100 people will tonight fill the streets of Valencia.
Leaving Calle Játiva at 22:30 (that’s Spanish 22:30 so be prepared to wait a little longer) via Marqués de Sotelo past the beautiful Post Office building – Correos – up to the doors of City Hall/Ayuntamiento on Plaza del Ayuntamiento, which will house the main ninot of Fallas 2011.
The arrival of the committee parade in the square will trigger a fantastic colourful mascletá (firework display, Spanish style).

MTV Winter 2011 line up and date has been announced for Valencia.
On the 12th of March, Valencia will hold the fourth MTV Winter Festival’s edition at the impressive architectural complex of The City of Arts and Sciences.
The last three MTV Winter Festivals have seen the likes of The Cure, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys and HIM. This time the headline acts are My Chemical Romance and SUM 41 with special DJ sets from Orbital and UK band Groove Armada. Supporting band will be Welcome Dinasty – winners of a recent rock contest.

Oktoberfest 2010 – A celebration of beer is inspired by the mythical Oktoberfest that is celebrated every year in Munich (Germany).
The first Oktoberfest was celebrated between the 12th and 17th of October in 1810 to celebrate the marriage of prince Luis I to the princess Teresa de Saxony Altenburg.

La Tomatina is a food fight festival held on the last Wednesday of August each year in the town of Buñol in the Valencia region of Spain. Tens of metric tons of over-ripe tomatoes are thrown in the streets in exactly one hour.
The week-long festival features music, parades, dancing, and fireworks. On the night before, participants of the festival compete in a paella cooking contest. It is tradition for the women to wear all white and the men to wear no shirts. This festival started in a casual way in 1945, but wasn’t officially recognized until 1952.

The annual Spanish Tomatino festival, the biggest food fight in the world.
It consists of overripe tomatoes being thrown into drunken crowds!
The festival drew a record 40,000 people last year. First they wait for the big truck of tomatoes, then when it appears, they go nuts whipping tomatoes at each other. NOT FOR KIDS!

Experimentation in performance is the starting point for the 17 shows taking part in the Valencia Open Stage Festival (VEO) between 11th and 22nd February.

For Valencia, the 19th March is the day of a great celebration. This is the night of fire – the explosive finale to Fallas.
The celebration starts on the 1st march and from this date through to the 19th March at 14:00 there is an amazing mascletá in the Plaza Ajuntamento. To see this arrive a couple of hours early and find a cafe – it gets very busy. A mascleta is “daytime fireworks” – ear splittingly loud and very smokey but worth seeing!
