The Parque de Cabecera extends the green area of the dried out river bed and continues on to the diverted river. It is an ideal place to enjoy with kids.
The park has two main sections, the Montaña Mirador and the Bosque de Ribera Mediterraneo which recreates the original landscape of the Turia River.
Found at the western end of the riverbed, this exquisitely planned parkland is a mixture of communal playgrounds and nature reserves. It contains an artificial lake which is fed by the source of the old river, an outdoor auditorium which hosts live music and theatre throughout the year.

Plaza del Ayuntamiento
The Plaza del Ayuntamiento is the largest and probably most important plaza in Valencia.
Home to the city hall (ayuntamiento) and the magnificent central post office (edificio de correos), the Plaza del Ayuntamiento also serves as the centre for the Fallas celebrations

Jardínes De Ayora
The Ayora Gardens are beautifully laid out, tranquil and peaceful and have a beautifully constructed modernist small palace, which was built in 1900.
The City council of Valencia bought the grounds of the Gardens of Ayora 1976 and began a long restoration and cleaning process of the gardens which had been left to go to ruin.
The garden has a calming atmosphere, perfect just to walk and relax, it has leafy vegetation, with great rubber plants, jacarandas, olive trees, eucalyptuses and much more.

The Jardines del Real, more commonly known as the Jardines de Viveros, is a delightful Valencia park featuring fragrant rose gardens, shady pine trees, statues to admire and benches to sit back and revel in the atmosphere.
These gardens are locally known as the Breeding grounds because in 1903 they were  given to the city council of Valencia to provide breeding grounds for trees. VALENCIA grew alongside the river Turia for many years until the devastating flood of 1957.
It was then decided that living alongside the river imposed a huge risk and the river was diverted. Today, the Turia’s old riverbed is the largest urban garden in Spain.
The old riverbed is now a verdant sunken park that allows cyclists and pedestrians to traverse much of the city without the use of roads. The main attraction in the Turia riverbed is Parque Gulliver.
This is an amazing play area based around the figure of the mythical Gulliver, tied to the ground by the inhabitants of Lilliput. The slides provide hours of fun for children and adults and its completely free.
