The Parpalló Room in Valencia is currently exhibiting “La Grande Fête #1″ by Han Hoogerbrugge.
In La Grande Fête, an interactive installation, Hoogerbrugge portrays the obsessions of contemporary man. To do so, he assembles several characters who represent a large part of the members of the human race that do not want to face up to a social reality full of uncertainties.
So, running away from the anguish this produces, they decide to create their own reality (their own festival). Characters that find evasion in compulsively consuming food, fetishes, violence, etc. and that are plunging either towards destruction or divine revelation.

The exhibition Pleiad Keramos retakes east the everlasting dialogue of direct form from the contact between two groups of artists who express themselves with the ceramic material with which they own and form a common bond between two consecrated teachers, one in the West with Enric Mestre, another one in East with Yasuno Hayashi, who were friendly for many years.

La Tomatina is a food fight festival held on the last Wednesday of August each year in the town of Buñol in the Valencia region of Spain. Tens of metric tons of over-ripe tomatoes are thrown in the streets in exactly one hour.
The week-long festival features music, parades, dancing, and fireworks. On the night before, participants of the festival compete in a paella cooking contest. It is tradition for the women to wear all white and the men to wear no shirts. This festival started in a casual way in 1945, but wasn’t officially recognized until 1952.
