Oktoberfest 2010 – A celebration of beer is inspired by the mythical Oktoberfest that is celebrated every year in Munich (Germany).
The first Oktoberfest was celebrated between the 12th and 17th of October in 1810 to celebrate the marriage of prince Luis I to the princess Teresa de Saxony Altenburg.

The Parpalló Room in Valencia is currently exhibiting “La Grande Fête #1″ by Han Hoogerbrugge.
In La Grande Fête, an interactive installation, Hoogerbrugge portrays the obsessions of contemporary man. To do so, he assembles several characters who represent a large part of the members of the human race that do not want to face up to a social reality full of uncertainties.
So, running away from the anguish this produces, they decide to create their own reality (their own festival). Characters that find evasion in compulsively consuming food, fetishes, violence, etc. and that are plunging either towards destruction or divine revelation.

Pléyade Kerasmos, dos culturas, dos maestros y su Legado is currently showing at the Museo de Cerámica de Valencia.
The exhibition Pleiad Keramos retakes east the everlasting dialogue of direct form from the contact between two groups of artists who express themselves with the ceramic material with which they own and form a common bond between two consecrated teachers, one in the West with Enric Mestre, another one in East with Yasuno Hayashi, who were friendly for many years.

La Tomatina is a food fight festival held on the last Wednesday of August each year in the town of Buñol in the Valencia region of Spain. Tens of metric tons of over-ripe tomatoes are thrown in the streets in exactly one hour.
The week-long festival features music, parades, dancing, and fireworks. On the night before, participants of the festival compete in a paella cooking contest. It is tradition for the women to wear all white and the men to wear no shirts. This festival started in a casual way in 1945, but wasn’t officially recognized until 1952.

The Parpalló Room in Valencia is currently exhibiting Augmented Sculpture de Pablo Valbuena.
Augmented Sculpture is an installation that reflects on the temporary quality of the space and its constant transformation. In this  computer science culpture, Pablo Valbuena raises two levels that explore different aspects from the spatio-temporal reality.
The first level consists of a physical volume that controls the real space and serves as support for the second level, that consists of a virtual layer of projected light to control the transformation and sequencing of the piece. Company, design and innovation are united this summer at the Cultural Bancaja in Valencia with a proposal that offers the public the lifeline of companies.

The exhibition, organized by the MuVIM and Mediterranean Caja, concentrates on the futuristic movement and its influence on the Italian publicity of the time.
One of the more interesting movements is that of vanguard, that was developed between the first and second decade of century XX in Italy.
