The Beach of Devesa

a life in valencia Devesa 1

Playa de la Devesa
La Devesa is an uncrowded and undeveloped nudist beach, with beautiful sands and crystal clear waters.
It is a favourite for many as it has all the quality of El Saler but none of the crowds. This is beacause it’s off the beaten track and completely undeveloped – car is the best option if you can. If you can’t then you need to travel 10 minutes further on the bus from El Saler and walk for another half an hour. Fortunately, the walk is gorgeous and will add extra enjoyment to your day.
At the entry point to La Devesa you [...]

Pinedo Beach

Playa de Pinedo
Pinedo beach is the nearest beach outside of Valencia and it has a nudist section.
It is the closest of the southern beaches and the first stop out of the city, although it doesn’t have the quality of El Saler, which is only another 5 minutes down the road.
With the El Saler beach so close, there is no particular reason to visit unless you are looking for a nudist area although Playa de la Devesa is a better option for the serious nudists but it’s another 15 min by bus and 20-30 minutes on foot. La Devesa is a real nudist [...]

Torres de Serranos

The Towers of Highlands (or Door of Highlands) were constructed at the end of 14th century.
Their initial function was to serve as fortification, a fact that testifies to their heavy walls and their solidiness, but they were generally used for ceremonies and official entrances for important personalities that visited the city, the main reason why they are considered to be the main entrance to the city of Valencia.
Their name seems to come from the fact that they are located approximately to the northwest, therefore, they were the natural entrance that communicated with the ways to the Highlands (the Camino Real of Saragossa, that [...]

Playa de El Saler
El Saler beach really is the jewel in the crown of the Valencia coast, it is a breathtaking blue flag beach.
Bountiful white sand, dunes, crystal clear blue water and gentle breezes makes El Saler is top quality. This is really is Valencian beaching at its best.
El Saler is only half an hour bus trip from the centre of Valencia and does become extremely popular on the international level in the summer. If you want the same quality and lesser crowds you should carry on to La Devesa.

Valencia Port Swing Bridge

a life in valencia f1-grand-prix-bridge-valencia-spain 2

Valencia has never had a bridge as versatile as it is in the port. It started as a step drawbridge, continued as fixed and is now part of the dial to the Formula 1 street circuit.
The Port was proud of their bridge, a double-leaf bascule bridge for road and rail traffic, but quickly found it would no longer have its original use as a cargo entry point, when Valencia was designated to host the 32nd edition of the Copa America.
Therefore the port had to undergo a transformation and the cargo ships would cease to enter the inner harbour, this area would only be [...]
