Fashion Art at the CAC

Until 10th October, the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia will be hosting Fashion Art, an exhibition that aims to analyse the cultural interaction and aesthetic references between the visual arts and fashion design.
The exhibition brings together a collection of over 40 hand-painted dresses that blend fashion and design with the visual arts. Fashion Art, located in the Calle Mayor section of the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum, is arriving in Europe for the first time, having travelled to several Latin American cities such as Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Santiago de Chile, among others.

Science and science fiction come together from the 22nd July to the 22nd February 2011 on the third floor of the Science Museum at the City of Arts and Sciences.

Nights at the Oceanográfico

Nights at l’Oceanogràfic, which is taking place from 16th to 31st July this year, will be a multimedia theatrical show.
This event uses different artistic disciplines to look at the history and cultural tradition of the Mediterranean basin through mythology.
A fusion between two worlds, that of humans and of nature, told through music, light, sound and the exercises performed by the dolphins. The event aims to raise awareness among audience members and convey a respect for the environment.
Open from 8 p.m. until midnight, visitors can walk around l’Oceanogràfic ‘out of hours’ and visit the facilities to see species such as sharks, seals, walruses [...]

Prince Felipe Museum of Science is part of Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències.
The building was designed by Santiago Calatrava and was built in a joint venture of Fomento de Construcciones and Contratas and Necso. It was opened on 13th November 2000.
The building was designed in 1991 and construction began in 1996. It is over 41,000 square meters in area and resembles the prehistoric-skeleton of a whale. The Hemisfèric IMAX Cinema

The Hemisfèric IMAX Cinema

The Hemisfèric is part of Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències.
The Hemisfèric was the first building in the City of Arts and Sciences to open its doors to the public in 1998.
This spectacular construction was designed by the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, with an ovoid roof spanning over 100 metres that contains the large sphere that constitutes the projection room of the IMAX cinema.
