The Iglesia Santa Maria del Mar is one of the best preserved Rennaisance churches in Valencia. Its origin dates from the early days of the conquest by King Jaime I of Aragon.
It is named in historical documents dating as far back as 1333 and 1392. In the descriptions of this ancient building, there is a visual record from 1563 in which the Flemish painter Van den Anthoine Wijngaerde Grao shows the appearance of Valencia and from the view you can see the church.
There is limited information on this stunning church but it has been recorded that originally it was a single-nave temple 25 [...]

Catedral Valencia
Centrally located on the Plaza de la Reina, this is the religious centre of Valencia and one of the city’s landmarks.
Many centuries ago, it used to be a mosque, but when El Cid conquered the city, it became a Roman Catholic cathedral. Later the city was re-conquered by the Muslims as part of the Arab Moorish invasion of Spain and the South of France. The cathedral again became a mosque.
Later, when the Christian King Jaume I  re-conquered Valencia it reverted to a Christian cathedral. The Miguelete bell tower (El Miguelete) is a hexagonal Gothic tower towering over Plaza de la Reina. [...]

Monasterio de San Miguel de los Reyes
The Hieronymite monastery of San Miguel de los Reyes (San Miguel of the Kings) rose in 16th century on the site of the old mercedaria abbey of Sant Bernat de Rascanya, thanks to the patronage of Duke de Calabria, Virrey of Valencia.
The building started in 1546 in the South cloister, following the plans of Juan de Vidaña and Alonso de Covarrubias. Shortly after the death of their founder, in 1550, the works practically became paralyzed. They were not started again until 1570, and were fully under the influence of the “Evangelistas de El Escorial”.
