IVAM Valencian Institute of Modern Art
The intention of the IVAM, the Valencian Institute of Modern Art, is the investigation and diffusion of twentieth-century art. Its programme of activities offers permanent collections, temporary exhibitions, talks, courses, workshops and publications.
It has two premises: the Centre Julio González, opened in 1989, and the Sala de la Muralla opened in 1991.
The Centre Julio González is a newly-erected 18,000 m2 building, most of which is open to the public. Of the total floor space, 60% is occupied by eight galleries that house both permanent and temporary exhibitions.
