		<description><![CDATA[On three Thursdays in September, the 16th, 23rd and 30th,  at 11 p.m, the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM) in Valencia  will be hosting a series of free concerts by Bob Sands &#38; Fabio Miano Quartet, Kiko Berenguer with the final performance given by the IVAM Jazz Ensemble and Antonio Serrano.<br />
The musicians taking part in the Jazz a l&#8217;IVAM season include the saxophonist and composer Bob Sands, born in Manhattan, who has the honour of having received the Honorable Mention Award from DownBeat magazine. He has also performed on international tours with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra and the Glenn Miller Orchestra.<br />

		<description><![CDATA[With the arrival of summer, the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM) in Valencia has new challenges to face and new artists to welcome  including Wang Xieda, a Chinese artist showing his work for the first time in Europe.<br />

		<description><![CDATA[The intention of the IVAM, the Valencian Institute of Modern Art, is the investigation and diffusion of twentieth-century art. Its programme of activities offers permanent collections, temporary exhibitions, talks, courses, workshops and publications.<br />

It has two premises: the Centre Julio González, opened in 1989, and the Sala de la Muralla opened in 1991.<br />
The Centre Julio González is a newly-erected 18,000 m2 building, most of which is open to the public. Of the total floor space, 60% is occupied by eight galleries that house both permanent and temporary exhibitions. 		<description><![CDATA[Jazz will be taking over Thursday nights in Valencia thanks to the IVAM Blues Festival 2009.<br />
On 18th and 25th June at 11 p.m. the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM) will be welcoming two great musical acts.<br />
On 18th June, the pianist Lluís Coloma will be showing his skill in Blues and Boogie Woogie. Coloma, named best Blues musician on various occasions in national and international competitions, displays energy and originality. Then on Thursday 25th June, Raíles Blues Band &#38; Janine Johnson will be giving a concert that marks the end of the IVAM Blues Festival 2009.<br />

		<description><![CDATA[Try to catch an excellent exhibit called Modern India at the IVAM. Visitors were taken a tour of India’s history, from colonialism to the present day, through the eyes of its artists.<br />
A large, comprehensive exhibit, filled with oil paintings, sculptures, photography, and audio-visual displays, Modern India provided an excellent couple hours of escapism. <br />
If you didn’t get to see it, hopefully the pictures in this post provide an acceptable substitute. The exhibit was split into 6 periods, organized by time.
