There is a selection of Tapas bars and restaraunts along the front and a super little ice cream bar. It is a lesser known beach and often not crowded. It is the perfect hideaway to go and relax on long stretches of golden sands and marine blue sea.

Split from Malvarossa by a stream and a bridge, Patacona brings a marked difference. The sand itself is a much wider strip, giving a sensation of more space and tranquility.
The large bridge obstructs the view of the city to the right, taking you further away from the civilisation. The views of the coastline on the left are closer and prettier and the crowds are smaller, while the space is larger.

It is a favourite for many as it has all the quality of El Saler but none of the crowds. This is beacause it’s off the beaten track and completely undeveloped – car is the best option if you can. If you can’t then you need to travel 10 minutes further on the bus from El Saler and walk for another half an hour. Fortunately, the walk is gorgeous and will add extra enjoyment to your day.

It is the closest of the southern beaches and the first stop out of the city, although it doesn’t have the quality of El Saler, which is only another 5 minutes down the road.
With the El Saler beach so close, there is no particular reason to visit unless you are looking for a nudist area although Playa de la Devesa is a better option for the serious nudists but it’s another 15 min by bus and 20-30 minutes on foot. El Saler is only half an hour bus trip from the centre of Valencia and does become extremely popular on the international level in the summer. If you want the same quality and lesser crowds you should carry on to La Devesa.
