The building started in 1546 in the South cloister, following the plans of Juan de Vidaña and Alonso de Covarrubias. Shortly after the death of their founder, in 1550, the works practically became paralyzed. The Central Market of Valencia is constructed in a modernist style and was built in 1914.
The designers, Francisco Guard Vial and Alexander Soler, both trained at the School of Architecture of Barcelona and worked closely with Domènech i Montaner, an architect who characterized himself as a modernist.
There is great beauty in the architecture as well as the tradition and history of the market. The combination of metal, glass and the Gothic columns is a testament to modernism, as if the Market is a cathedral to the commerce-centre it once was.
The market is located at the Plaza del Mercado, next to La Lonja [...]

Café Bolseria

La Bolsería is one of the most popular and high profile mainstream weekend spot in Barrio El Carmen.
Now in it’s 15 years, it is still all about the looks and the moves. Packed with people who come down for a drink, a light dance, and to find a mate, Bolseria is always full of life.
Normal nights in Bolseria tend to be heavily R&B influenced, hot and sexy, even outright wild, with plenty of dressing-up and dancing skills, if the space allows. Even though La Bolseria is a total flame for the mainstream moths of the night, it is a passionate and dynamic venue [...]
